11. production and industry

Industry is a decisive segment in the economic cycle, responsible for the production of an enormous diversity of desired and necessary goods. Today, 22% of the Brazilian national product comes from the industrial sector, including the extractive and manufacturing industries.

It is evident that each industry has its particularities regarding the use of resources and its relationship with nature. In this chapter we will assess some specific industries and general trends for manufacturing activity.
